TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer, Java | Ticketing (ITSM/Billing): Building scalable ticketing and billing systems for IT teams and managed service providers with an accent on Java and Kotlin development, reliable invoicing, workflow automation, and accounting integrations. Focus on designing high-scale services, solving datastore and asynchronous application challenges, and connecting endpoint remediation workflows with billing.

Location: Remote from Brazil, Colombia, or Ecuador; onsite interviews may be required

What you will do

Develop scalable ticketing and billing products for IT teams and managed service providers.
Build systems for invoices, quotes, contracts, usage data, and billing workflows.
Integrate billing and financial data with platforms such as QuickBooks and Xero.
Connect ticket resolution, endpoint remediation, technician activity, and billing in a unified product experience.
Implement design patterns and ship enterprise-scale software running across millions of endpoints.
Contribute to quality-first engineering practices and collaborate with fellow engineers.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in Java software development for product applications or equivalent experience.
At least 4 years of experience working with highly scalable software systems.
Expertise in Kotlin, object-oriented design principles, scalable data structures, and relational database development.
Knowledge of API best practices and REST service development using frameworks such as Jersey or Spring.
Experience with client-side and server-side development, responsive messaging, and solving scaling challenges.
Expertise in quality testing practices; Redis and caching systems experience is an advantage.

Nice to have

Experience with hirify.global's technology stack, including Kotlin, C++, Golang, Postgres, Redis, and AWS.
Experience with large-scale datastore bottlenecks, asynchronous application design, and client-server architecture.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
