Director, Product Innovation Management (Medical Diagnostics)

Location: On-site in Sunnyvale, California, United States; travel of up to 25%, including possible international travel.

Annual salary: $95,000–$215,000, plus eligibility for bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Develop and present business cases for new products, define market requirements, and write product definitions.
• Represent customer and business needs on new product development core teams.
• Lead market and customer discussions at Product Planning Group meetings to assess risks and manage tradeoffs.
• Lead cross-functional NPD core teams from the pre-concept tollgate through the product development cycle.
• Build relationships with Project Management, Portfolio Management, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Clinical Affairs stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or life sciences with 12+ years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Operations in the medical or diagnostic industries; or a Master’s degree with 8+ years; or a Doctoral degree with 5+ years.
• Experience translating clinical value into marketing messages for laboratory, clinical and healthcare provider, health system, and patient segments.
• Excellent presentation skills and the ability to manage multiple products and disease states.
• Ability to work on-site in Sunnyvale, California.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the infectious disease testing marketplace.
• Knowledge or experience in next-generation sequencing.
• Product management experience in the medical device and diagnostics industry.
