Senior Software Engineer (Layer1/C++)

What you will do

• Design, architect, and manage the development of Layer1 software features for physical connectivity components.
• Develop and maintain features using C, C++, and Python, including automated tests and test infrastructure.
• Build instrumentation and telemetry tools to monitor and troubleshoot physical link health.
• Collaborate with customers, product management, hardware, optics, manufacturing, system test, and support teams.
• Develop software control interfaces for PHYs, transceivers, forwarding engines, connectors, and gearboxes.
• Provide technical leadership, own projects from definition through deployment, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering with relevant experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python.
• Knowledge of UNIX or Linux and applied software engineering principles.
• Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to design and independently implement solutions and work effectively in small teams.
• Experience with low-level hardware, digital communications, IP networking, or distributed systems is advantageous.
