Desktop Deployment Specialist

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $50,000–$65,000 CAD per year

Software organization supporting desktop deployment, IT equipment, and end-user technology.

What you will do

• Coordinate the deployment of computers, mobile phones, peripherals, and other IT equipment for new and existing employees.
• Manage hardware requisitions, purchase orders, shipping labels, order tracking, delivery issues, and inventory replenishment.
• Deploy Windows and macOS computers and provide high-level desktop support for configuration, hardware, and software issues.
• Collaborate with Procurement on asset tracking, equipment redeployments, repairs, and inventory control.
• Support meeting-room audio/visual and collaboration technology, including conferencing equipment and Microsoft Teams Rooms.
• Maintain incident histories, deployment documentation, and technical problem resolutions while handling requests from local and remote users.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience deploying Windows and macOS computers.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French is required.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and experience diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience supporting meeting-room audio/visual and collaboration technology, including displays, cameras, microphones, and Teams Rooms or similar platforms.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, attention to detail, and customer-service skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Intune and Jamf.
• Experience supporting a software organization or remote workforce.
• ITIL knowledge and experience with ITSM ticketing systems or ServiceNow.
• Experience with Jaggaer.
