Health Information Specialist I (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, United States; full-time, 8-hour shifts.

What you will do

• Serve as the front desk contact for patients requesting medical records or releases.
• Provide phone support to patients, providers, and authorized requestors.
• Process Release of Information requests accurately and on time.
• Fax, scan, organize, and manage incoming and outgoing medical record requests.
• Burn medical images to CDs and share images electronically when required.
• Support client communication, reporting, data entry, email, and administrative duties.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, privacy regulations, and facility policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution recognized by the State Department of Education.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
• Basic computer proficiency and experience using phones, fax machines, printers, and standard office equipment.
• Strong data entry, organization, attention to detail, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently, respond to changing priorities, and work quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work overtime during peak seasons when required.
• Successful completion of annual HIPAA training and a 90-day ROI certification course with a score of at least 85%.
• Post-offer health screenings and proof or completion of required vaccinations may be required.
