Public Benefit Specialist (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Location: On-site at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana; limited to individuals who reside and are authorized to work within the United States.

Salary: $18.65–$20.50 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Review uninsured and under-insured patients for Medicaid and financial assistance eligibility.
• Coordinate applications and obtain the required patient documentation.
• Follow applications through determination and update insurance information.
• Support timely billing and financial adjustment posting.
• Document actions and communications in patient accounting systems.
• Work with Medicaid caseworkers and internal revenue cycle departments.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of healthcare experience involving patient interaction about hospital financial matters.
• High school diploma or GED; equivalent post-secondary education and experience may be considered.
• Understanding of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials.
• Knowledge of insurance requirements, authorizations, benefits verification, medical terminology, or procedure codes.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.
• Earn the CRCR certification within 9 months of hire.

Nice to have

• Patient Access experience with managed care or insurance.
• Call center experience.
