Senior Portfolio Manager Assistant (Investment Management)

Location: New York, New York; in-office collaboration at least four days per week, with up to one day per week working from home

Base salary: $76,700–$90,000 per year, plus potential variable compensation and benefits

What you will do

• Execute daily portfolio validation, monitoring, automated reporting reviews, cash tracking, and flow monitoring.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve portfolio issues, settlement breaks, partial fills, and other operational exceptions.
• Schedule portfolio rebalancing, raise orders in order management systems, execute market orders, and manage corporate actions.
• Act as a second set of eyes for Portfolio Managers and coordinate with operations teams, vendors, counterparties, and external business partners.
• Improve processes by identifying automation opportunities, developing standard operating procedures, and maintaining documentation.
• Review client proposals for data integrity before distribution.

Requirements

• Degree in Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Strong technical and programming skills with the ability to apply data-driven solutions to complex operational challenges.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Valid U.S. work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Financial services industry experience and knowledge of direct indexing, investment strategies, market dynamics, or portfolio optimization.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Experience with process automation tools.
• Foundational knowledge of AI theory and practical automation use cases.
