Backend Engineer, Spot (Java)

Location: Asia; work-from-home arrangement, subject to the business team's requirements

What you will do

• Design application architecture across user interface, middleware, infrastructure, and backend components.
• Develop, integrate, maintain, upgrade, and migrate applications for spot trading services.
• Lead application development activities, including design, testing, debugging, prototyping, and user feedback integration.
• Write application code and scripts, install and update applications, and run diagnostic tests.
• Define development plans, architecture standards, processes, procedures, and documentation.
• Mentor junior developers and collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• At least 8 years of software development experience, preferably with backend or distributed systems.
• Strong Java and MySQL skills, with familiarity with Spring and at least one NoSQL database.
• Strong distributed systems design knowledge and familiarity with messaging middleware and its underlying principles.
• Ability to work under stress, learn quickly, and communicate effectively across teams.
• Based in Asia; work-from-home availability may vary depending on business needs.
