What you will do
- Define and drive the long-term backend architecture strategy in line with business goals.
- Oversee system design across multiple services, focusing on scalability, reliability, and security.
- Establish architectural standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Lead technical due diligence, risk assessment, trade-off analysis, modernization, and technical debt reduction.
- Champion observability, performance engineering, and operational excellence.
- Lead, mentor, hire, and develop backend architects and senior engineers while coordinating cross-team initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years in a lead or principal role.
- Production experience designing and scaling distributed systems.
- Strong experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Deep expertise in Java, Go, Python, Node, or a similar backend language.
- Extensive knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, API design, databases, caching, messaging, and high-concurrency systems.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and modern infrastructure practices, plus strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
