Software Architect - Open Platform

What you will do

• Define end-to-end architecture for Open Platform domains, including API platforms, partner integration frameworks, developer experience, and core platform services.
• Set standards for service design, data models, API design, scalability, observability, reliability, and security across multiple teams.
• Lead design reviews and align product engineering, infrastructure, security, and compliance stakeholders across regions.
• Identify scalability and reliability bottlenecks and design long-term solutions for high-traffic, low-latency, globally distributed systems.
• Mentor engineers, improve engineering quality and documentation, and guide the adoption of platform frameworks, cloud patterns, and distributed data systems.
• Drive architecture roadmaps, risk management, delivery governance, and execution of large cross-team initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and significant ownership of system architecture for large-scale distributed systems or platform products.
• Experience designing service-oriented and microservice architectures with high availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
• Strong knowledge of API architecture, including REST/gRPC, authentication and authorization, rate limiting, versioning, developer experience, and platform governance.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including consistency, concurrency, caching, messaging, streaming, and multi-region resilience.
• Ability to produce high-quality technical designs, influence implementation, and contribute to code when needed.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and technical leadership skills, including influencing without authority and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience building developer platforms with public APIs, SDKs, documentation systems, partner onboarding, or integration ecosystems.
• Security and compliance experience for external-facing platforms, including OAuth, data access governance, threat modeling, and privacy controls.
• Experience operating global, multi-region systems and working with cross-time-zone teams.
• Familiarity with observability practices, SRE principles, and incident response processes.
