Associate Director Virology (Biotechnology)

Location: Rensselaer, New York, United States; onsite. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Salary: $147,800–$241,200 annually

What you will do

• Own and improve the viral safety program for a bulk biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
• Evaluate viral control strategies and implement remediation efforts.
• Review procedures and protocols for viral detection, containment, and decontamination.
• Interface with regulatory authorities and maintain awareness of viral-control requirements.
• Develop and approve test protocols, investigations, and remediation plans.
• Lead virology investigations, equipment and process troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action planning.

Requirements

• PhD in virology or a related field preferred; relevant biopharmaceutical virology experience may substitute for an advanced degree.
• At least 10 years of experience in a GMP biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical environment.
• Experience participating in regulatory inspections and presenting or defending positions during audits or inspections.
• Ability to work onsite in Rensselaer, New York, Monday–Friday.
• Final level will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
