Financial Analyst - Payroll

Location: Pullman, Washington, United States; onsite

Salary: $81,300–$122,000 per year

What you will do

• Process accurate and timely multi-state payroll in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Review and audit earnings, deductions, taxes, timekeeping records, and other payroll data.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll-related journal entries and account analyses.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll accounting close activities.
• Provide payroll reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Assist with payroll system testing, implementations, process improvements, and compliance initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience processing payroll and supporting payroll compliance activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with payroll, HRIS, and ERP systems.
• Working knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including GAAP, tax, and/or IFRS standards.
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, analytical ability, communication skills, and deadline management.

Nice to have

• Certified Payroll Professional or Fundamental Payroll Certification designation.
• CPA, CMA, CFA, or a master’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Experience with multi-state or multinational payroll, payroll tax reporting, tax, audit, project, or cost accounting.
