Senior Data Analyst - Fraud (Fintech)

What you will do

• Investigate fraud attacks, quantify their impact, and present findings that guide prioritization and response.
• Propose and refine rule-based fraud mitigations with fraud operations and engineering teams.
• Build and maintain reports and dashboards covering fraud trends, rule performance, and operational metrics.
• Collaborate with fraud operations, data scientists, engineers, and product managers to turn analysis into action.
• Identify emerging fraud patterns and flag risks before they escalate.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst focused on fraud or in a similar role, with equivalent accomplishments considered.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries across large datasets.
• Experience in fraud, risk, or financial services and understanding of fraud mitigation trade-offs.
• Experience with Python or scripting for data manipulation and analysis.
• Proficiency with a BI tool such as Power BI, Looker, Tableau, Superset, or Redash, and with Excel, Google Sheets, or an equivalent spreadsheet tool.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field, along with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with data governance.
• Experience with Git or another version control tool.

Hiring process

• Preliminary phone call with a recruiter.
• Technical take-home SQL test.
• Technical interview with the hiring manager, followed by a behavioral interview with the Head of Data Analytics/Science and Fraud Team.
