Senior Insurance Authorization Specialist (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Location: On-site at Bon Secours - St Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia; limited to individuals residing and authorized to work in the United States

Salary: $18.65–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience

What you will do

• Support insurance authorization and verification activities for patients scheduled for healthcare services.
• Select accurate clinical and medical records, validate demographic and insurance information, and confirm active coverage.
• Submit authorization requests to insurance companies based on plan requirements and communicate with ordering physicians to secure approvals.
• Assist the department supervisor with workflow distribution, escalated issues, and system or process issue tracking.
• Mentor and train new team members while supporting quality, customer service, and productivity targets.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.
• Certified Revenue Cycle Representative certification required within nine months of hire; certification is company-paid.
• Ability to meet accuracy, customer service, and productivity standards while following regulatory requirements.
