Legal Counsel (Construction Law)

Location: On-site at the Thornton, Colorado office. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $135,000–$200,000 per year, paid weekly and commensurate with experience.

What you will do

• Provide legal advice and support on construction law matters.
• Review, draft, interpret, and negotiate EPC agreements, construction contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, joint ventures, consortium agreements, equipment contracts, memoranda of understanding, and nondisclosure agreements.
• Support disputes involving construction projects, including drafting related documentation and correspondence.
• Advise project managers, operations teams, executives, internal counsel, and external counsel on contracts, regulatory requirements, and risk management.
• Organize project documentation and respond accurately to internal and external legal inquiries.

Requirements

• 3 to 7+ years of construction law experience.
• Active state bar admission and ability to become licensed in Colorado within six months.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong knowledge of construction and contract law, including risk-shifting provisions, with strong negotiation and strategic thinking skills.
• Advanced verbal and written communication, organizational, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.
• Current authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
