Community Affairs Specialist

Location: San Antonio, TX; travel up to 30% required.

Data center infrastructure company seeking local community engagement support for its assigned market.

What you will do

• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, elected officials, business organizations, schools, residents, and other local stakeholders.
• Represent the organization within assigned communities and act as a local point of contact for questions, concerns, and stakeholder inquiries.
• Gather community feedback, coordinate responses with the Community Affairs Manager and internal teams, and escalate emerging concerns.
• Coordinate community meetings, stakeholder visits, outreach events, local engagement activities, site tours, presentations, and community-facing events.
• Support charitable partnerships, sponsorships, memberships, and community investment initiatives.
• Maintain stakeholder interaction records and provide regular updates to the Community Affairs Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in community relations, communications, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, customer relations, nonprofit organizations, local government, or a related field.
• Experience building and maintaining professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• Experience coordinating meetings, events, or outreach activities.
• Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, build credibility within the community, identify and appropriately escalate community concerns and emerging issues.
• Strong organization, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Nice to have

• Experience working with local governments, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, school districts, or community groups.
• Familiarity with construction, infrastructure, energy, industrial, real estate development, or data center environments.
• Knowledge of the local market and stakeholder landscape within the assigned community.
