Location: Fully remote across the United States; flexibility required to support PST/CST working hours.

Salary: $65,604–$87,565 per year, based on location, experience, qualifications, performance, role growth, and internal pay equity.

What you will do

  • Verify eligibility and conduct benefit investigations through payer portals and direct payer communication.
  • Submit, track, and follow up on durable medical equipment claims to accelerate reimbursement and reduce denials.
  • Manage aged accounts by identifying payment blockers and driving balances to resolution.
  • Review EOBs and determine whether to rebill, appeal, escalate, or close each claim.
  • Prepare documented appeals and explain benefits and billing questions clearly to patients, providers, and payers.
  • Partner with internal teams to improve workflows, compliance, patient experience, and AI-enabled billing tools.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional insurance billing and eligibility experience with direct responsibility for billing outcomes.
  • Hands-on durable medical equipment billing experience.
  • Experience with eligibility verification, prior authorizations, claim submission, denial management, appeals, and aged-account resolution.
  • Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, HIPAA, CMS, ERISA, and ACA requirements.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Brightree and NikoHealth.
  • Must be located in the United States and able to support PST/CST working hours.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Epic, Kareo, or AdvancedMD.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve billing and reimbursement workflows.
