Health, Safety & Environment Officer (HSE)

Location: Hybrid in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with frequent travel between sites in the Netherlands and Belgium

What you will do

• Lead the HSE culture, training, communication and awareness pillar across all hirify.global markets.
• Design and deliver safety campaigns, toolbox talks, safety moments, lessons learned sessions and internal HSE communications.
• Act as the HSE contact for construction projects, field operations, offices, contractors and suppliers in the Netherlands and Belgium.
• Support construction design reviews, HSE management system implementation, contractor management and legal compliance.
• Coordinate incident reporting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, inspections, risk assessments and training records.
• Use HSE data and dashboards to identify trends, prioritise actions and share best practices across markets.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in an HSE position.
• Knowledge of HSE legislation and safety standards relevant to the Netherlands and/or Belgium.
• Experience with incident investigation, incident analysis and corrective actions.
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites and stakeholders.
• Comfort with data and simple dashboards, including Excel or Databricks.
• Professional written and spoken English and Dutch, a valid driving licence, and willingness to travel frequently between locations in the Netherlands and Belgium are required.
