Underwriter Marine

Location: Capelle aan den IJssel, Netherlands; primarily in the office

What you will do

• Underwrite new and renewal Marine insurance business and support profitable growth.
• Develop creative insurance solutions for complex risks.
• Work with brokers and clients to understand deal structures, products, pricing, terms, and conditions.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, conditions, and deal structures.
• Build broker relationships, attend market events, and generate new business.
• Collaborate with distribution, territory managers, and underwriters across business lines on target accounts and cross-selling opportunities.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in insurance and an interest in Marine insurance.
• Ability to analyse financial statements.
• Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Customer- and sales-oriented approach with motivation, persistence, technical ability, proactivity, and accountability.
• Interest in personal and professional development.
