Sr. Staff Data Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; hybrid with at least 3 days in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $153,500–$245,900 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, enhance, and build a data token platform and highly available real-time scoring services.
• Architect and implement secure, robust, scalable components for global transaction processing systems.
• Analyze business requirements, develop technical solutions, and partner with product management and customers.
• Lead internal proof-of-concept initiatives, rapidly prototyping systems and handing solutions over for production implementation.
• Drive software best practices, unit testing, code reviews, continuous integration, and reliable delivery to production.
• Represent the team in technical forums, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional and non-technical teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience with an advanced degree or PhD.
• Strong background in big data engineering with Hadoop, Apache Spark, Python, SQL, and Scala.
• Experience creating large-scale data pipelines, ETL processes, Spark pipelines, and machine learning model products.
• Proficiency with Kafka, Redis, Flink, TensorFlow, Triton, AWS services, Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, and Control-M.
• Experience with Agile development, TDD, CI/CD, relational and non-relational databases, and secure, reliable, scalable application design.
• Technical leadership, strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• 9+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 7+ years with an advanced degree.
• Experience leading teams delivering large-scale enterprise applications.
• Experience with Unix/Shell scripting, operations tools, security analysis, and industry software best practices.
