FDA - Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote within the United States; U.S. citizenship required and must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

What you will do

• Own the Terraform and ArgoCD IaC/GitOps foundation, ensuring declarative, self-healing, and recoverable platform operations.
• Build and operate a multi-tenant internal developer platform with golden paths, self-service onboarding, environment management, catalogs, and CLI tooling.
• Run Kubernetes on AWS GovCloud across development, pre-production, and production environments, including autoscaling, ingress, Gateway API, cert-manager, and ALB integration.
• Architect MLOps/AIOps capabilities for data science and engineering teams, including GPU workloads, model training and serving, SageMaker, Bedrock, and ML pipelines.
• Enable the data lakehouse with Trino/Iceberg, Glue, S3, Dagster, dbt, and search, while delivering observability, SLOs, dashboards, and actionable alerting.
• Automate security and compliance, produce ATO artifacts, maintain documentation and runbooks, and partner with government stakeholders and platform tenants.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevSecOps, site reliability, or cloud engineering with senior-level production ownership.
• Experience building and taking an internal developer platform or PaaS for federal clients through production and ATO.
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes/EKS, GitOps using ArgoCD or Flux, Terraform, CI/CD, and progressive delivery.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native tooling, including EKS, S3, Glue, IAM/IRSA, ECR, SageMaker, Bedrock, and Athena.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go, plus working knowledge of NIST 800-53, FISMA, ATO processes, and regulated environments.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust are required.

Nice to have

• Production MLOps/AIOps experience with tools such as Kubeflow, MLflow, Ray, KServe, Triton, Seldon, or GPU scheduling.
• Federal health, AWS GovCloud, IL4/IL5, FedRAMP, or air-gapped environment experience.
• Data lakehouse, policy-as-code, container security, SBOM, vulnerability scanning, or cloud cost management experience.
