Compliance Auditor

What you will do

• Conduct detailed medical record, documentation, coding, billing, reimbursement, and compliance audits.
• Apply CMS, AMA, OIG, NCCI, third-party payer, and other regulatory guidance to audit findings.
• Prepare audit reports, executive summaries, compliance recommendations, and corrective action plans.
• Present findings and recommendations to providers, administrators, attorneys, executives, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Deliver education and training on documentation, coding, and compliance requirements.
• Support quality assurance, peer review, audit methodology development, project management, and client relationships.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of healthcare auditing, documentation review, compliance, regulatory, or related healthcare experience.
• Experience reviewing medical records and auditing professional coding across specialties and service settings.
• Advanced knowledge of physician documentation, E/M coding, healthcare reimbursement, compliance auditing, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, writing, communication, organization, project management, and client-service skills.
• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Required certifications: Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) and Certified Professional Coder (CPC).

Nice to have

• Experience in consulting or a client-service environment.
• Certifications such as CHC, CPCO, CRC, RHIA, RHIT, or COC.
• Familiarity with AI-powered auditing and compliance tools.
