Payments Control Partner (Fintech)

Location: London office or remote within the UK, with ad hoc meetings in London.

Salary: £71,400–£115,000 per year, dependent on experience, plus performance-based incentive awards for the permanent role.

What you will do

• Act as a first-line risk and control partner across Payments products, technology, infrastructure, operations, partners, and regulatory obligations.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations on significant change and strategic programmes, leading risk assessments and governance activities.
• Shape a scalable and proportionate control environment for a multi-market payments organisation and identify gaps in risk management.
• Support regulatory, policy, payment scheme, audit, assurance, incident, remediation, and reporting activities.
• Strengthen operational resilience, business continuity, third-party risk, and exit planning.
• Use data, customer evidence, incidents, and control information to support customer outcomes and improve risk management.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of effective control environments for multi-market payments organisations.
• Experience connecting product, operational, technology, regulatory, scheme, and resilience risks.
• Experience independently leading complex risk assessments and challenging Product, Engineering, and Operations teams.
• Knowledge of risk and control frameworks, control design and monitoring, issue management, incidents, and governance.
• Experience with complex incidents, remediation, regulatory activity, audit, or assurance.
• Ability to communicate clearly and prepare decision-ready materials for senior leaders, committees, auditors, and regulators.
