Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

Location: Remote; candidates must be based in Mexico, Europe, or a similar timezone that complements the Bogota-based team.

Salary: $3,000–$4,500 per month

What you will do

• Own the performance, availability, scalability, and health of production PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB systems.
• Design and maintain backup, replication, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
• Lead database deployments, migrations, and schema changes with minimal downtime.
• Provide after-hours and on-call support for critical deployments.
• Partner with Engineering on scalable data architectures and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Establish security, access control, data governance, documentation, and database best practices while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar senior data infrastructure role.
• Strong production experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery, replication, high availability, production deployments, and on-call rotations.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills under pressure.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Based in Mexico, Europe, or a similar timezone that complements the Bogota-based team.
