What you will do
- Lead firmware design, development, optimization, and integration for complex commercial personal systems.
- Coordinate multiple project teams of firmware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners across all stages of product development.
- Allocate resources, create detailed project plans, and ensure firmware functionality and timely issue resolution.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to define communication protocols, system states, and feature requirements.
- Review designs and project activities for compliance with development standards, providing feedback to improve product quality and reduce failure risk.
- Prepare technical documentation and mentor less-experienced firmware engineers.
Requirements
- Four-year or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated competence.
- Typically 7–10 years of experience, preferably in firmware development or a related field.
- Experience with embedded systems, embedded software, firmware development, software engineering, and operating systems.
- Knowledge of C, C++, Python, Linux, real-time operating systems, algorithms, debugging, and Git.
- Experience with Agile methodology, new product development, and collaboration across engineering functions.
- Effective communication, results orientation, learning agility, digital fluency, and customer centricity.
