Associate or Senior Editor (Sustainable Materials Chemistry)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Shanghai, Beijing, or Nanjing offices in China, or the New Delhi or Pune offices in India

What you will do

• Handle original research manuscripts and oversee manuscript selection and peer review.
• Make editorial decisions based on expert advice and assess the novelty, context, and implications of submitted research.
• Shape the representation of sustainable chemistry and materials chemistry in the journal.
• Collaborate with Nature Portfolio editors and the international scientific community.
• Guide, support, recruit, and train external editorial board members.
• Attend conferences and research institution visits, commission and edit Reviews, and write Editorials.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent in materials chemistry or a related field, including materials synthesis, characterization, or applications.
• Experience or strong knowledge in sustainable chemistry, sustainable materials, or materials for environmental applications is advantageous.
• Thorough understanding of current trends and developments in the relevant scientific fields.
• Strong scientific comprehension, critical evaluation, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English required.
• Willingness to travel and meet scientists worldwide.
