Data Science Intern (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid at the downtown Chicago headquarters, with in-office attendance twice per week. Candidates must be local or able to relocate independently; relocation assistance is not provided.

What you will do

• Build predictive models to optimize lending decisions using statistical modeling and simulation.
• Analyze consumer risk behavior, portfolio trends, and resulting business opportunities.
• Establish performance metrics and create automated reporting dashboards with SQL and Python.
• Design A/B tests for models and underwriting strategies, evaluate results, and provide recommendations.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with data analytics and statistical modeling.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Programming experience with Python.
• Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, analytics, quantitative finance, or engineering.
