Security Operations Lead (AI Security)

Location: San Francisco, CA; in person five days a week at the San Francisco HQ, with one company-wide remote week per month

Salary: $200,000–$350,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits

hirify.global is an AI interpretability research lab building interpretability agents and infrastructure to understand, monitor, and align AI models.

What you will do

• Own corporate IT and physical security as the first security hire.
• Manage identity and access controls, including MFA, SSO, account lifecycle, and device trust.
• Secure endpoints through device management, EDR, hardening, and patching.
• Define controls for AI agents and untrusted code across laptops, accounts, and cloud systems.
• Run incident response, SOC 2 audits, vendor reviews, and customer security questionnaires.
• Own physical security and network security for the San Francisco office.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT security or security engineering.
• Experience owning identity, endpoint, and corporate systems security.
• Experience running SOC 2 audits and enterprise customer security reviews.
• Strong understanding of AI security and how AI agents change the threat model.
• Willingness to personally own security work of all sizes.

Nice to have

• Experience with physical security, access control systems, and facility security.
• Experience at an early-stage startup or building a security program from scratch.
• Experience at an AI lab or in ML research environments.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure security and CI/CD pipelines.
