Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

Location: United States; remote work with onsite customer engagements and up to 15% travel

Salary: $126,200–$212,754 per year for US-based employees

What you will do

• Participate in sales processes with direct and channel sales teams.
• Discover customer requirements and align them with SailPoint solutions.
• Deliver foundational implementations and proof-of-value engagements remotely and onsite.
• Educate customers on product architecture, functional design, and best practices.
• Collaborate with sales, solution engineering, product, professional services, customer success, and other FDEs.
• Build agentic technology solutions and use AI tooling to solve complex customer problems.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in an enterprise software company, systems integrator, or consulting firm, including 3+ years in software implementation or pre-sales.
• Experience with software development, implementation, configuration, client communication, and partner collaboration.
• Working knowledge of web services, application servers, databases, virtualization, directories, and modern SaaS architecture.
• Experience with agentic coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Kiro, Google Antigravity, GitHub Copilot, or OpenAI Codex.
• Experience with Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, or React; familiarity with Java, XML, Python, LDAP, SQL, PowerShell, JSON, and AWS, Azure, or GCP is desirable.
• A computer science or engineering degree, or equivalent experience, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity, governance, and access management solutions.
• Experience with Spring, enterprise databases, directories, cloud infrastructure, ERP or service management systems, and front-end technologies.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning, security software, IT audits, project management, or quality assurance.
• J2EE, CISSP, SailPoint Certified Engineer, or Solution Architect certification.
