AI/ML Engineer

Location: Hybrid in San Mateo, California, with 3 days on-site

Salary: $250,000 base salary plus equity

What you will do

• Design multi-step agents for planning, retrieval, generation, and error recovery.
• Build evaluation systems and improvement loops for agent quality.
• Develop RAG pipelines using vector search, knowledge graphs, lineage, and metadata.
• Generate and validate production-grade data transformations.
• Select and adapt models for quality, latency, throughput, and cost.
• Move AI systems from prototypes into reliable enterprise production.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with meaningful AI/ML depth.
• Production experience building agents, coding assistants, or generative AI systems.
• Strong Python skills.
• Hands-on experience with RAG, retrieval, code generation, or knowledge systems.
• Ability to work in San Mateo, California, with 3 days on-site in a hybrid setup.

Nice to have

• Vector database or knowledge graph experience, including Neo4j.
• AWS and Kubernetes experience.
• Scala or Go experience.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, DuckDB, or Spark.
