CloudOps Delivery Lead (Azure)

Location: Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. Standard business hours with participation in an on-call roster as required.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a CloudOps team operating Azure environments for critical Federal Government workloads.
• Implement Azure governance, including policies, RBAC, management groups, subscriptions, tagging, and cost management.
• Provide monitoring, incident response, proactive remediation, observability, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Sentinel.
• Automate operational tasks with PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, Bicep, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Drive root cause analysis, reliability improvements, disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience planning.
• Collaborate with cyber security, assurance, architecture, vendors, and agency stakeholders on Zero Trust, audits, IRAP evidence, compliance, and client-facing technical discussions.

Requirements

• AGSVA Baseline clearance is mandatory.
• Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate certification (AZ-104) and practical experience managing enterprise Azure environments.
• Experience with Azure Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, Azure Policy, Sentinel, Azure Landing Zones, management groups, subscriptions, policy-as-code, and RBAC design.
• Proficiency with Bicep or ARM templates, PowerShell or Python, CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Azure monitoring, incident management, observability, alerting, proactive remediation, and operational resilience.
• Awareness of PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight, privacy obligations, IRAP assessment expectations, Australian data sovereignty, and Federal Government assurance processes.

Nice to have

• Progress towards or completion of Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience with cost optimisation, chargeback/showback, hybrid cloud integration, ITIL 4, audit and assurance, or SIAM models.
