Senior Engineer (Go/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of the ArangoDB Kubernetes Operator.
• Own operator architecture and implement lifecycle management, scaling, backup, replication, and cluster automation features.
• Ensure high availability, performance, consistency, and stability for ArangoDB running on Kubernetes.
• Define best practices for deploying and operating stateful systems on Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to align operator capabilities with enterprise and cloud requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across Kubernetes and distributed systems and support extension into AWS GovCloud.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required because the role supports a U.S. Air Force project.
• At least four years of programming and cloud experience.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, CRDs, operators, custom resources, deployments, and stateful workloads.
• Strong Go experience with a solid understanding of concurrency, storage, and distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS cloud solutions and production-grade distributed databases or stateful systems.
• Knowledge of PersistentVolumes, PVCs, local storage, volume resizing, backup, failover, observability, upgrades, migrations, technical leadership, and documentation.

Nice to have

• AWS GovCloud experience.
• Active security clearance.
