Sr. Director, Head of Site Engineering & Facilities (Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, United States; onsite

Base salary: $206,000–$283,250 per year

What you will do

• Lead site engineering and facilities functions covering manufacturing engineering, facilities engineering, maintenance, utilities, instrumentation and controls, reliability, and site services.
• Develop engineering and facilities strategies supporting manufacturing performance, capacity, reliability, compliance, and long-term infrastructure needs.
• Serve on the Site Leadership Team and contribute to site strategy, decision-making, and long-term planning.
• Lead engineering and facilities leaders, develop high-performing teams, and foster an inclusive culture.
• Oversee shutdown planning, operational readiness, business continuity, emergency response, capital budgets, and infrastructure investments.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, technical operations, and global engineering teams on technology transfers, facility expansions, continuous improvement, and digital transformation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least 15 years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or a related field.
• Leadership experience managing engineering, facilities, maintenance, and/or utilities organizations and large cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, facilities, utilities, validation, lifecycle management, cGMP, EHS, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing operating budgets, capital projects, contractor relationships, and stakeholder influence across multiple functions.
• Employment is based at the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina site; hirify.global is an E-Verify employer in the United States.

• Advanced degree in engineering, business, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience supporting large-scale biologics or pharmaceutical manufacturing campuses.
• Expertise in site-wide utility infrastructure, facilities operations, and engineering compliance programs.
• Experience leading digital transformation, automation, or operational excellence initiatives.
• Experience presenting to regulatory agencies and leading engineering and facilities inspections.
