Principal Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Chicago (Green St), Illinois, United States

Salary: $147,151.48–$200,000.00 per year; bonus and/or commission eligible.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and evolve secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud platforms across Azure and AWS.
• Improve observability across cloud and application environments using monitoring, telemetry, and operational insight platforms.
• Establish platform standards, automation, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD practices using Terraform, Bicep, and GitHub.
• Enable engineering and machine learning teams to build, deploy, and operate cloud-native solutions.
• Manage Kubernetes-based environments with Helm and ArgoCD, participate in on-call support, and resolve critical production issues.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-functional initiatives that improve reliability, developer productivity, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related infrastructure roles.
• Production experience designing and operating large-scale systems on Azure and/or AWS.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking, containers, DNS, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD.
• Hands-on experience with security tooling, including SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, and cloud security solutions.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling AI solutions on Foundry or Bedrock in production.
• Self-starter mindset and experience solving previously unsolved problems.
