Software Engineer II, End User Protection (Auth0) (AI)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work arrangement

Annual salary: CAD 110,000–151,800, plus equity where applicable, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and operate Auth0 Attack Protection services at large scale.
• Develop features using Node.js, JavaScript or TypeScript, AWS, Azure, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Kubernetes.
• Break down complex requirements into modular engineering tasks and estimate medium- to large-scale initiatives.
• Communicate technical trade-offs, risks, timelines, and dependencies with engineering and product leadership.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Security, Infrastructure, machine learning, and AI teams.
• Implement identity protocols and open standards including OAuth, OpenID Connect, and SAML, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Practical experience with Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, or a similar language.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting highly reliable, maintainable, scalable distributed systems.
• Understanding of application security and cloud security best practices.
• Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS and Azure.
• Experience influencing engineering strategy and delivering complex multi-quarter projects across organizational boundaries.
• Strong communication, systematic problem-solving, ownership, and collaboration skills in a remote working environment.

Nice to have

• Existing knowledge of OAuth, OpenID Connect, or SAML.
• Experience in security engineering and application security.
• Understanding of architecture principles across infrastructure, security, data, integration, and application layers.
