GS NDT Engineer and Inspector

Location: Shanghai, China; inspections are generally carried out at suppliers' premises and require national and international travel

What you will do

• Prepare, perform, and follow up on non-destructive inspections for generators, gas engines, and gas and steam turbine components.
• Inspect forged components, castings, and large steel fabrications, including automatically captured forging records and data.
• Review supplier inspection results and technical documentation, identify deviations, and coordinate follow-up actions.
• Qualify and develop suppliers while contributing to quality improvements for purchased parts.
• Apply preventive supplier quality management, risk management, root-cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Collaborate with global teams, suppliers, and internal partners across departments.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of NDT experience with forged components; familiarity with castings and large steel fabrications.
• Technical education, mechanical engineering qualification, or a similar background.
• ISO 9712 or equivalent certification at least to Level II in VT, UT, MT, PT, and RT.
• Strong experience with ultrasonic testing; experience with automated NDT on forged components is preferred.
• Knowledge of quality methods such as 5 Why, FMEA, 8D, and RCA is advantageous.
• Business-fluent English and willingness to travel nationally and internationally; confident use of MS Office and SAP required.
