Laboratory Technician (Food Testing)

Location: Grimsby, UK; laboratory-based role

What you will do

• Register and process food samples according to quality standards and documented procedures.
• Prepare media and perform reading and confirmation tests.
• Conduct media quality control, IQC, and environmental monitoring.
• Maintain sample records, quality data, and compliance with laboratory procedures.
• Support UKAS accreditation requirements, health and safety, customer care, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
• Degree or equivalent in science and laboratory experience are desirable but not essential; full training is provided.
• Good organisational and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work reliably and thoroughly under pressure and take responsibility.
• Commitment to customer service and maintaining a safe, clean working environment.
• Part-time schedule: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 17:00–22:00, with flexibility to work 16:00–21:00 when required.
