Welding QC Engineer (Oil & Gas)

What you will do

• Prepare quality documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans, and review construction documents for welding compliance.
• Monitor welding activities across design, procurement, construction, testing, and final handover.
• Manage inspections and testing, supervise QC Inspectors, and coordinate with third-party testing and inspection companies.
• Witness and approve welder qualifications, WPS and PQR qualifications, and client verification activities.
• Track punch-list closeout, inspection records, instrument calibration, test data, and final certification documentation.
• Identify non-conformances, raise reports when required, support corrective actions, and assist with audits of subcontractors and suppliers.

Requirements

• At least 10–15 years of experience as a highly experienced welding quality professional, including at least 15 years in welding-related activities within oil and gas projects.
• ADNOC project experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering and a master’s degree in Welding.
• Professional welding engineering certification such as IWE or CWE, ASNT Level II in RT, UT, MT, and PT, and ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification.
• CSWIP 3.1 certification is required; CSWIP 3.2 is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of welding procedures, qualifications, defect identification, consumables, repair data, and applicable ASME Section IX, AWS D1.1, API 1104, ISO 13847, SHELL DEP, and ADNOC specifications.
