Commercial Director (Crypto)

What you will do

• Develop and execute the commercial strategy and roadmap for the Australian market.
• Drive growth across customer acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, trading activity, revenue, and market share.
• Lead go-to-market strategy for products, services, and market initiatives in Australia.
• Develop local value propositions, customer segments, distribution channels, and activation strategies.
• Identify, structure, and negotiate strategic partnerships and ecosystem opportunities.
• Coordinate with Product, Marketing, Growth, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Customer Support teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in commercial strategy, business development, growth, partnerships, or related roles, including significant leadership responsibility.
• Proven experience building or scaling a business, market, or commercial function.
• Experience driving measurable outcomes such as market share, active customers, trading volume, revenue, and brand recognition.
• Strong understanding of the Australian market and its customer behavior, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities.
• Experience developing go-to-market strategies and executing them in the market.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills, with an interest in blockchain technology and digital assets.

Nice to have

• Experience at a crypto exchange or platform.
• Experience in trading, brokerage, derivatives, fintech, or transaction-driven businesses.
• Existing relationships across Australia's crypto, fintech, institutional, payments, or financial-services ecosystem.
• Experience working across global and cross-cultural teams.
• Familiarity with Australia's regulatory environment for digital assets and financial services.
• Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
