Head of Operations - APAC (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Melbourne or Sydney, Australia

What you will do

• Lead the regional Operations team and line-manage Analysts, including Incident Leads.
• Manage regional capacity, identify resource constraints, and build a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Oversee payment processing, reconciliation, payment operations, partner integrations, customer onboarding, and support experiences.
• Improve operational processes, customer support, onboarding, and provider integrations, including the appropriate use of AI tooling.
• Track team performance metrics and SLAs while handling complaints in line with internal and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Banking Partnerships, Relationship Management, Product, and Engineering to support customer retention, provider performance, roadmap visibility, requirements discovery, and testing.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in payments or fintech operations, including leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of cross-border payments, transaction flows, FX, digital wallets, and financial infrastructure.
• Deep experience working in API-first environments and regulated, multi-jurisdictional operations.
• Experience scaling operational teams and systems in high-growth fintech or scale-up environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder-management, data-analysis, process-optimization, and reporting skills.
• Right to work in the jurisdiction where the role is based is required.
