Laboratory Manager (Environmental Chemistry), MeChem

What you will do

• Manage daily laboratory operations, sample processing, testing workflows, equipment scheduling, housekeeping, and resource utilization.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SAC-SINGLAS requirements, quality standards, EHS regulations, and laboratory documentation procedures.
• Review technical data and test reports, coordinate proficiency testing, method verification, quality control, audits, and CAPA implementation.
• Oversee instrument maintenance, calibration, servicing, troubleshooting, and implementation of new equipment and test methods.
• Lead operational improvement plans and strategic initiatives to optimize workflows and develop new testing capabilities.
• Supervise, train, evaluate, and develop laboratory staff while coordinating with management, operational teams, scientific personnel, and clients.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Science, or an equivalent discipline.
• At least 8 years of related laboratory experience and at least 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience with method-related tasks, audit and CAPA management, laboratory quality systems, and equipment management.
• Possession of SAC-SINGLAS signatory experience and good knowledge of SAC-SINGLAS and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols, with the ability to multitask and coordinate across operational and scientific functions.
