Oncology Discovery Scientist Intern (Oncology)

Location: Spring House, Pennsylvania, United States of America. The role is primarily onsite; the hybrid model applies only to non-lab-based positions.

What you will do

• Design and execute experiments supporting oncology discovery and the development of novel therapeutics.
• Study disease biology, identify potential drug targets, and investigate mechanisms of action for emerging drugs.
• Collect, record, interpret, and report experimental data with guidance from senior discovery scientists.
• Review scientific literature and new technologies, and participate in department, cross-functional, and global matrix meetings.
• Prepare and present oral and written research results, including a poster or abstract at the annual global summer intern research symposium.
• Attend drug-development lectures, shadow functional roles, and contribute to internship projects and leadership activities.

Requirements

• Permanent legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship is required. CPT requirements must be communicated at application.
• Current enrollment in an accredited university or college throughout the internship; applicants must not graduate before, during, or after the program.
• Undergraduate students must have completed at least four semesters at the program start, or applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program leading to a master’s or PhD.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and good academic standing.
• Experience or a degree focus in biology, cell or molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, immuno-oncology, computational biology, or a related field.
• Fluent written and spoken English, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Leadership or participation in campus and service programs.
• Experience with Slack and Microsoft business applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Outlook, OneNote, and SharePoint.
