BTR Quality and Safety Manager (Construction)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; daily presence required at the division/corporate office or community

What you will do

• Conduct jobsite inspections, monthly audits, quality inspections, and safety evaluations across the division.
• Implement and maintain jobsite safety programs, signage, PPE supplies, safety books, MSDS records, and site rules.
• Lead safety training for trade partners, property management, construction, and office staff, including OSHA, CPR, First Aid, and AED programs.
• Manage safety reporting, committee meetings, continuous improvement plans, and recommendations for the BTR National Safety Committee.
• Monitor trade partner deficiencies, trends, competency records, and high-risk safety programs in coordination with purchasing.
• Manage home quality reporting and the unit handoff process to the property management company.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and 4+ years of construction experience, preferably with a production or multifamily builder; a bachelor’s degree in construction or a related field is preferred.
• Certified U.S. Department of Labor OSHA trainer for 10- and 30-hour construction courses.
• Certified CPR, First Aid, and AED instructor.
• Ability to report to the division/corporate office or community daily and work across jobsites.
• Ability to use computers and electronic devices, communicate face to face, operate a motor vehicle when applicable, and remain stationary for approximately 50% of the time.
• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
