Summer 2027 Internship - Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with an average of 1–2 days per week at the Greenville, SC office; U.S. citizenship required

Salary: $48,399.00–$28.00 as stated in the posting

What you will do

• Develop backend services and frontend interfaces.
• Build modern, responsive web user interfaces.
• Integrate technologies and applications across software systems.
• Develop applications, user interfaces, and system tests.
• Use AI coding agents, including Claude Code or Gemini-based agentic workflows, in software engineering activities.
• Iterate rapidly with the development team and support additional engineering duties.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance before the internship starts.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent and enrollment in a relevant bachelor's degree program with more than 60% of required credits completed; applicants are expected to enter their senior year or final semester after the internship.
• Programming experience with Java, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, modern JavaScript frameworks, Node, and/or CSS.
• Knowledge of databases, query processing, SQL, RESTful web services, object-oriented programming, configuration management, and software design practices.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment at the Greenville, SC office 1–2 days per week.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with Linux.
• Current security clearance.
