Registered Nurse, RN - Radiation Oncology, Part Time

Location: Lowell General Hospital, Radiation Oncology - Main Campus, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. Part-time day schedule, 24 hours per week.

Pay range: $37.50–$68.47, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide direct professional nursing care to radiation oncology patients and their families according to established policies, procedures, physician orders, and the patient’s plan of care.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Use nursing judgment to adapt care plans to changes in patient health status and coordinate discharge planning, referrals, and community resources.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions and advance directives, and communicate with physicians and the healthcare team.
• Manage patient assignments, delegate care according to patient needs and team-member skills, and support staff development through precepting.
• Participate in evidence-based practice, performance improvement, professional development, and departmental committees.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to patient care may be required.
• RN experience requirements vary by career level: Level I requires less than 12 months; Level II requires 12 months to less than 3 years; Level III requires 3 to less than 8 years; Level IV requires 8 years.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team, with knowledge of the nursing process.
• Ability to lift 30–35 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, maneuver patients, and work around infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, and possible carcinogenic chemicals.
