SEO Specialist (Full-time / Contract)

Location: US nationwide, remote; open to residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C.

Salary: $16.82–$25.62 per hour

What you will do

• Conduct keyword research and search intent analysis for assigned pages and topics.
• Optimize title tags, meta descriptions, headers, body content, internal linking, and structured data.
• Refresh priority content using ranking and traffic data, and optimize school location pages with local SEO practices.
• Flag indexation, canonical, crawl, and other technical SEO issues for resolution by the internal team.
• Create data-backed content briefs and review SEO content before publication.
• Provide monthly updates on rankings, traffic, and engagement.

Requirements

• At least three years of hands-on SEO experience in-house, at an agency, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong keyword research, search intent mapping, analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with SEMrush or Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
• Working knowledge of indexation, canonicals, internal linking, structured data, and other on-page technical elements.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, communicate accurately, and maintain high-quality work.
• Ability to pass a required background check and reside in the 50 states or Washington, D.C.

Nice to have

• Experience in education, EdTech, or multi-location organizations.
• Experience with BrightEdge, enterprise content management systems, schema markup, and structured data implementation.
• Familiarity with AI search visibility.
