Principal Workday Analyst – Security (Workday)

Location: Remote within the United States; position associated with Minnesota

Salary: $113,600–$170,400 per year for U.S. locations excluding Puerto Rico and specific California locations. The role is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Lead Workday Security strategy, design, configuration, role assignments, security groups, and ongoing support.
• Design and maintain scalable domain, business process, segmented, and integration security models across the Workday environment.
• Evaluate security changes, assess risks, and align access design with least-privilege, segregation-of-duties, governance, and data protection requirements.
• Partner with HR, HR Operations, IT, Audit, Compliance, and Workday functional teams on projects, enhancements, releases, testing, and production changes.
• Troubleshoot complex access issues, process failures, role conflicts, and permission gaps.
• Support audits and internal controls by maintaining documentation, performing quarterly and annual segregation-of-duties audits, providing evidence, and addressing remediation items.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of Human Capital Management systems experience, including Workday Security configuration, or an advanced degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on Workday Security configuration experience in a complex business environment.
• Experience with Workday domain and business process security policies, security groups, role assignments, access design, and secure scalable solutions.
• Experience with security governance, risk assessment, segregation of duties, compliance controls, testing, releases, and change implementation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.
• U.S. work authorization is required unless sponsorship applies under the company’s policy for Principal-level roles and above.

Nice to have

• Workday PRO Security certification.
• Experience supporting multiple Workday modules, including HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Adaptive, or Benefits.
• Experience with integrations, single sign-on, identity and access management, privacy, compliance, and data protection in regulated environments.
• Experience in large, matrixed, or global organizations and mentoring analysts or leading cross-functional workstreams.
