Senior Engineering Manager (Consumer Apps Performance)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; based at Roblox HQ with office presence required Tuesday through Thursday and optional presence Monday and Friday.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team of junior-to-senior engineers.
• Define and execute product and technical strategies for performance improvements and regression defense across mobile, desktop, and console platforms.
• Own the team mission, outcomes, roadmap, and execution.
• Partner with Product Management, Data, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify performance opportunities and analyze impact.
• Develop solutions and processes that improve application performance, engagement, retention, and monetization.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as an engineering manager or technical lead manager.
• At least 8 years of experience building large client applications.
• Deep technical expertise in at least one client platform: Android, iOS, Windows, or macOS.
• Experience developing software engineers, facilitating team success, and leading by example.
• Proven technical delivery experience in high-scale environments with complex constraints.
• Experience solving complex problems involving engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
