What you will do
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and career development.
- Guide the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, platforms, and data products.
- Review architecture and code, provide technical direction, and resolve complex engineering challenges hands-on when needed.
- Partner with product managers, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to prioritize work and deliver projects.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, incident response, data quality, governance, compliance, and engineering workflows.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering, including 1–2 years in team leadership or mentorship.
- Strong experience building data pipelines and platforms with tools such as Spark, dbt, Airflow, Kafka, or Databricks.
- Proficiency in one or more of Python, Scala, or Java, plus SQL.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with behavioural analytics tools and data, including Snowplow, Amplitude, or Google Analytics.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- People management or tech lead experience in a data engineering or analytics team.
- Familiarity with machine learning workflows, data observability, and streaming architectures.
- Experience in a product-driven, customer-focused organization.
- Understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance frameworks.
