Data Engineering Senior Manager (Databricks)

What you will do

• Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of scalable data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and data products on Databricks and AWS.
• Manage up to 9 data engineers and 5 consultants, including hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, coaching, and career development.
• Set technical strategy and platform governance in partnership with Data Architects, Product Managers, Analytics, and Engineering teams.
• Own production health, SLAs, incident response, monitoring, alerting, reliability, and platform cost.
• Plan and prioritize delivery across discovery, platform investment, and operational work while resolving architectural gaps and cross-team dependencies.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform, or related data roles.
• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including coaching, performance management, and organizational development.
• Strong experience building scalable data platforms and production-grade data pipelines with Python, Scala, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Snowflake, or BigQuery and cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives, architecture discussions, and engineering design reviews.
• Experience with self-healing and resilient data systems, monitoring, and alerting using Monte Carlo, PagerDuty, and Datadog.
